Jade has worked in property, commercial property and leasing, and general commercial areas of law since being admitted in 2002.
Widely regarded as a commercial property expert, Jade was a principal at specialist property and commercial firm Impact Legal which merged with Lane Neave in July 2024.
Jade acts for a number of high-net worth individuals and families, significant commercial property owners, property developers and several nation-wide businesses.
He has a broad range of experience across property matters generally, from titling and subdivisional work to property and commercial property transactional work, with highlights including:
- Acting for the vendor and developer of the office tower development at 61 Molesworth Street, Wellington, which recently sold to Precinct Properties prior to completion of the development works;
- Acting for the relevant purchasers of significant commercial property assets in Wellington, together with associated funding work, including the Bell Gully Building, the GWRC Building, the Te Auaha Campus and the Tesla Building;
- Acting for Tranzit Group Limited in relation to negotiating and implementing its successful tenders for PTOM contracts with Greater Wellington Regional Council, Horizons Regional Council and Auckland Transport, including all associated property work for the acquisition of various depot sites, negotiating and implementing contracts for the purchase of the bus fleet required for the contract, and associated funding work;
- Acting for various Crown entities including the Ministry of Education, Department of Internal Affair and Land Information New Zealand in relation to leasing work, which included providing certification of relevant leases, licenses and other similar documents;
- Acting for various developers in relation to successful fee simple or unit title developments, including all titling work and all transactional aspects involved in the sell-down processes.
