Bethany specialises in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. She has over 14 years’ experience in litigation roles across the private and public sectors in Christchurch, London and Auckland.
Bethany has acted in a wide range of contractual and commercial disputes for businesses and private clients. In addition, she has acted for liquidators, creditors and directors in insolvency disputes, finance companies in regulatory proceedings. Bethany has particular expertise in insurance and has acted for a number of insured parties in complex insurance disputes.
Examples of recent cases that Bethany has worked on include:
- Representing Wellington International Airport Limited in a series of cases in the Land Valuation Tribunal and High Court concerning rating valuations for land holdings in which the airport has a long-term interest.
- Representing the plaintiff body corporate in a claim in relation to earthquake damage to a complex of 41 units, achieving a pre-trial settlement with all defendants.
- Representing a local asset lender in respect of priority claims by an overseas asset lender in admiralty proceedings.
