Lane Neave has further bolstered its national commercial property capability with the elevation of Jaxon Grieve to the firm’s partnership.
The firm’s commercial property team now boasts seven Partners who provide specialist property expertise in all four Lane Neave offices.
“Jaxon had a stellar career with Lane Neave before spending several years as General Counsel for one of New Zealand’s leading residential property developers,” says Lane Neave Managing Partner, Andrew Shaw.
“He has returned to Lane Neave with an expanded base of commercial and legal expertise and we’re delighted to recognise his capability and potential by having him join the partnership.”
Jaxon’s considerable experience includes advising on commercial and residential developments, subdivisions, acquisitions and divestments, leasing, unit titles and property finance. He has expertise in compliance matters relevant to property transactions, including New Zealand’s financial markets legislation and the Overseas Investment Act.
Jaxon brings a wealth of experience from his prior role, where he gained a deep understanding of the property sector from both a legal and commercial perspective. This insight allows Jaxon to offer pragmatic, commercially sound advice that extends beyond the traditional legal role, addressing the broader needs of clients. His experience with cross-border transactions also enables him to provide strategic advice with a global outlook.
“I’m looking forward to reconnecting with past clients and existing connections, and establishing new relationships, with a view to working collaboratively to support the growth and success of clients for the long-term.”
Jaxon’s appointment brings the number of Lane Neave Partners to 24 who sit within a total staff of 155 located across the firm’s Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Queenstown offices.
You can join Jaxon and colleague Mat Martin at an in-person property seminar later this month, being held at our Christchurch office. Entitled Mortgagee Sales and Recent Changes to the RMA and OIA, Jaxon will explore the latest amendments to the Resource Management Act and Overseas Investments Act, and how they might impact the development and funding of property.
