Amarzaya is a Special Counsel based in our Christchurch office, specialising in litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution.

She has more than 14 years of international experience in several jurisdictions. Amarzaya has acted as counsel in numerous complex corporate and commercial transactions, and litigation matters, including cross-border litigation and international commercial arbitration.

She was appointed as an arbitrator with the Mongolian International Arbitration Centre in 2022. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

As a lawyer with significant experience in both civil and common law jurisdictions, Amarzaya is uniquely positioned to service both international and domestic clients.

Her experience includes:

  • Representing a state-owned entity in an international commercial arbitration (under Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) rules).
  • Representing an Australian/Philippines entity in an international commercial arbitration (under SIAC rules).
  • Providing a wide range of legal and technical support to a global mining services company in its operation in Mongolia.
  • Acting for a shareholder in a cross-border dispute in an action filed at the High Court of Hong Kong.
  • Acting for an international airline in relation to a proprietary injunction in an action filed in the High Court of Hong Kong.
  • Acting for a director of a Singapore-listed company in an action filed at the High Court of Hong Kong.
  • Panellist at the Mongolian Arbitration Day 2023 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – drafting arbitration clauses and strategic considerations.
  • Panellist at UNCITRAL and National University of Mongolia School of Law webinar Mongolia UNCITRAL Asia Pacific Day 2024 – international arbitration and transparency.
