Profile

Based in our Auckland office, Joseph specialises in employment, privacy, AI, and health and safety law.

He provides workshops and guidance on AI, privacy and employment matters. He develops bespoke employment policies, health and safety policies, privacy and AI-use policies, and data breach response plans.

He advises a variety of high-profile individuals and companies on all areas of employment law. He has deep technical expertise covering the full range of employment matters, including:

  • performance management
  • restructures
  • collective bargaining
  • employee share schemes
  • sale and purchase (due diligence and contracts)
  • investigations
  • disciplinary.

Joseph also carries out external investigations.

He has strong litigation skills, with experience in the District Court, High Court, Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court and Human Rights Review Tribunal, plus has successfully obtained injunctions at short notice.

He assists clients with WorkSafe investigations and designing health and safety management systems for complex multi-disciplinary businesses. He is experienced in developing legal registers for successful IS405001 certification.

His focus is on learning about his clients’ businesses and providing tailored and pragmatic advice and representation.
